The platform we have created is meant to showcase children who have a story to tell. It could be a written word or a spoken word. We have ventured far in the case of the written good; here’s how.
We have been conducting a national creative writing event. Children from all over India (and some overseas countries) send in their stories, drawings, and poems. The best are selected and produced in The Compendium of Original Creative Works for Children. This has been conducted for the last three years. And children who have been published, mostly for the first time, are from Bengaluru, Mangalore, Madurai, Kolkata, Delhi, Pune, and Mumbai, among many other cities across India. From the entries, we select a few who are outstanding and encourage them further. We offer them one of three opportunities:
1. Write an episode of our series ‘The Adventures on Doryu’. The ambience is explained to the child. They then write a story, which we produce as an illustrated storybook.
2. They can write a story with their own cast and situation, which we publish as an illustrated storybook.
3. We get the younger lot to write about their city, and similarly, we produce an illustrated interactive version of their work.
Oh, and by the way, we do this for FREE. We don’t charge the children – anything. This initiative has been bootstrapped. We know, not yet but eventually, costs would be covered through book sales. However, in the meantime, we will continue to pursue our primary objective - endeavour to make known gifted children, wherever they are.
We have more than enough talent, in every nook and cranny across the country.
Everything else we is also for children - like teaching them to think and write creatively. To create animated stories that other children have written and eventually to use children's voices overs for the characters.
If you feel you want to contribute to this most committed initiative,
please write in and let us know how you’d like to support us.
The current education system prioritizes memorization and exam success, often discouraging curiosity and deeper engagement. Children are taught to absorb and apply information without truly connecting to it. What’s needed is an approach that awakens their senses and encourages exploration. When learning becomes meaningful and personal, children internalize knowledge and begin to express themselves creatively, transforming education into an inspiring and enriching experience rather than a task.
A power-packed program for children that is age-appropriate and teaches by a step-by-step method to communicate in English. It begins with vocabulary building, then moves on to sentence construction, pronunciation, articulation, and effective body language. The program culminates in children creating their own written stories, monologues and school ready for dramatics and elocution and debates. The reward is getting their work published, being recognised in school and among friends — an accomplishment that inspires a lasting love for language and storytelling.
And now something exclusively for Children!
